Before you perform the scan and retrieve your lost data, you need to enter the scanning mode of the device first. Now, let's follow the steps to enter the scanning mode of the device successfully.
You have two ways to complete this task. The first way is following the guide displaying on the window of iOS Data Recovery, after connecting your device. Another way is you can do it by yourself with your device and leave alone the program.
Solution 1: Enter DFU mode with iOS Data Recovery
After launch iOS Data Recovery program and connecting your device, click on the Advanced Mode to enter a higher scanning mode. After that, you’ll get the following main interface (only for iPhone 4/3GS, iPad 1 and iPod touch 4).
Follow the steps in the window to get into the scanning mode.
Step 1. Hold your device and click the green Start button;
Step 2. After clicking the Start button, press the Power and the Home at the same time immediately for exactly 10 seconds.
Step 3. After 10 seconds, release the Power button, but keep pressing the Home for another 10 seconds.
Step 4. Then you'll be informed that you've successfully got into the scanning mode of the device after another 10 seconds, and you can release the Home button then.
If you have already tried several times and still can't enter the scanning mode of the device? Don't worry. You can try the solution 2.
Solution 2: Enter the scanning mode of iOS devices manually by yourself
Note: Don’t launch iOS Data Recovery on your computer at first.
Step 1. Connect your device to the computer;
Step 2. Press the Power and the Home at the same time for 10 seconds;
Step 3. After 10 seconds, release the Power button, but keep pressing the Home for another 10 seconds;
Step 4. Then release the Home button and launch iOS Data Recovery on your computer, and you'll get the following window;
Step 5. Click the Start Scan button and the communicating will automatically begin.
After you enter the scanning mode, iOS Data Recovery will start scanning your device for your lost data now.
